Tops at Spar recently launched a new campaign aimed at highlighting the life-changing consequences of drinking and driving. The ‘Aftertaste’ campaign – which will run during December – asks consumers to make responsible choices, be aware of their alcohol consumption and to use alternative modes of transport if necessary. The ‘after-effects’ of drinking and driving, or ‘aftertaste’, including grief, remorse and eternal mourning were ‘bottled’. Through graphic imagery, three thought-provoking television adverts supported by social media, and in-store assets, the campaign shows creatively labelled bottles filled with vile-tasting alcohol in three varieties.

HelloFCB+’s new campaign for the Cancer Association of South Africa (Cansa) encourages men to get a prostate blood test at one of Cansa’s Care Centres. ‘Don’t Fear The Finger’, an integrated advertising campaign inspired by the classic horror movie genre, launched during men’s health month in November with a TVC that removes the fear and encourages men to go for a test. The spot follows a man tentatively going for his first prostate exam only to find out that his fears are completely unfounded. Social videos and online banners also use suspense and fingers to point men to the campaign microsite where they can book an appointment at their nearest Cansa Care Centre.

In collaboration with Fondation Fondamental and Fnapsy (Fédération Nationale des Associations d’usagers en Psychiatrie), Serviceplan Health France launched a new campaign – which is aimed at raising public awareness around depression – on World Mental Health Day, 10 October 2019. The film, “The Little Empty Passage”, is intended to send the message that depression is an illness, not a weakness of character. Straddling comedy and drama, the film’s director, Daniel Perez (co-creative director of Serviceplan Paris), shows how patients with obvious pathologies would be treated if their clinical signs were considered as lightly as the signs of depression are sometimes. This spot was broadcast on the internet and social media.
