With the aid of the new app members can now have the very latest version of their membership card available on their smartphone which they can e-mail to their doctor, or anyone else. They can also submit a claim, verify available benefits, apply for hospital authorisation and change their personal details from the palm of their hand. If a member is connected to one of Medihelp's network benefit options, the app will even help them locate their nearest network doctor.
The broker-app on the other hand, empowers brokers to give their Medihelp customers a seamless service experience in less time than it would normally take. This app allows brokers to view details of Medihelp's benefit options and benefit guides on their smartphones and e-mail these to their clients. Brokers can generate a quote for their clients, complete, sign and send applications from their phone to Medihelp and view their existing clients' details. They can also get quick access to the contact details of their existing clients and report a problem to Medihelp that they might have experienced.
The apps-development forms part of Medihelp's strategy to grow and retain its membership, provide excellent customer service and maintain its bottom-line profitability.
Medihelp developed these apps specifically for the Android platform because most of their members and brokers who currently use the Scheme's secured website via their cell phones use Android smartphones like Sony, Samsung, HTC, Galaxy and LG. Apple development is underway and will be made available later on this year.
