Deadline looms for PRISA Prism Awards
With less than three days until the deadline of 26 January 2007 for submitting entries for this year's PRISA PRISM Awards, the pressure is on for public relations companies and practitioners to submit their entries. Here are some tips that you may find useful to assist you in compiling an award-winning entry.
1. Follow instructions
The PRISA PRISM Awards celebrate achievements in public relations campaigns. Focus your entry on the elements of a good PR campaign: needs assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Each of these elements must be clearly described and documented for a successful entry.
2. Submit quality, not quantity
The biggest entries do not necessarily win! While it is important that your entry is complete, with all the elements outlined in the rules, it does not need to include every detail of the campaign.
With limited time and many entries to evaluate, the judges appreciate high-quality entries that focus on the programme requirements. Including vast quantities of information that is of little relevance will not improve your chance of success.
3. Size doesn't count
Every well-planned and executed PR campaign has the potential to win a PRISA PRISM Award. It is not the size of the budget or the client's high profile that determines who wins. Set your sights high, and submit your campaigns for consideration!
4. Proof-read and double-check your entry
Make sure that your submission is proof-read for spelling errors, missing words and non-sensical sentences.
About the awards
Now in its tenth year, the PRISA PRISM Awards celebrate the successes and achievements of the PR and communication industries.
