New channel lineup to attract broader audience
The Hallmark Channel is expanding its lineup with award-winning series, in addition to its drama-filled movies, in order to include men in the channel's target audience.
Channel 155, recently acquired by NBC Universal, used to be an over 35 ladies audience. Some of the new series are Cane (airing on 9 April 2008), NCIS, Midsomer Murders and a Superwoman Stunt.
The popularity of series has increased globally due to the weekly suspense factor filtered into each episode, becoming a draw card to create loyal audiences.
“Hallmark Channel's 2008 lineup will launch new series and seasons almost every month,” says Tracey Hawkridge-Visser, manager: general entertainment & specialist channels of Oracle Airtime Sales.
