Zondi is a B.Com (Law) graduate from University of Johannesburg (the former RAU), majoring in private law and economics. He had previously been working as legal and programme manager for campus radio station UJFM.

“Vukile is part of the new breed of young talent we are proud to have identified,” commented Kanthan Pillay, YFM CEO. “His age and background are truly representative of the YFM brand. We believe that he will be instrumental in shaping and developing the stations offering going forward.”

Reporting to the CEO, Zondi will be the driving force behind the much anticipated 2008/9 new programming line-up.

“Being appointed as programming manager for South Africa's most successful youth radio station is an exciting challenge which I am very much looking forward to,” said Zondi. “I think my own youthful experience and perspective will definitely add value, particularly when it comes to connecting with and defining the young urban radio space.

“I fall within the same age group as the people YFM seeks to inform and entertain. Quite simply, I aim to bring YFM back to the youth. A youth that is highly informed, upwardly mobile and extremely ambitious.”
