Gennrich, who is said to be well-known in the media industry in South Africa, spent three years of his career in the PR communications division at VW's headquarters in Wolfsburg, Germany.
He replaces Bill Stephens, GM for the past seven years, who will be retiring at the end of April, after more than 30 years in VW brand advertising, marketing, sales and PR.
Prior to joining VW in sales and marketing in 1993, Gennrich was a key player on the VW brand business at the company's advertising agency. He has spent almost his entire career helping build a relationship between the South African consumer and one of the most popular car brands in the country.
