Promax, one of the world's premier association of promotion and marketing professionals in electronic media and BDA, a world leading association of designers involved in all aspects of electronic design for the broadcast, broadband and multimedia world, are unified in many activities because the work of promoters and designers is often inextricably linked. Together, PromaxBDA form an influential alliance of the leading marketing and design professionals in the electronic media world.
"We are all trying to get one thing right, in marketing, promo making, advertising, all fields where our job is to communicate with and affect a response in a group of people - we want to make a connection. Our hope from there is that our connection was memorable or powerful enough that it will pass from the medium we delivered it in, via the intended consumer to other intended consumers, creating a growing network of connections," says, Vanessa Sheldrick, conference director.
"Never before have we had more channels through which to make connections and yet it is harder to connect. Our audiences choose when they want to connect and how. They are no longer dancing to our tune; in a great reversal, we are dancing to theirs. The sixth annual PromaxBDA Africa invites you to come and make new connections, enjoy existing connections or perhaps re-connect with your promo, design and marketing peers with Connect 3.0," she concludes.
The event is about awarding and acknowledging the creative genius behind self-promotion on television and these include senior executives and producers in television, radio and digital media to the designers who market, advertise and strengthen the identity of companies and their output.
It is the public broadcaster's belief that creativity in all forms needs to be encouraged and nurtured, hence its continuing involvement at this year's event.
SABC spokesperson Kaizer Kganyago says, "This partnership strengthens our efforts as the public broadcaster in contributing to the promotion of local talent and for locals to learn from the world and to explore the future direction of television promo, design and marketing. We are proud to be part of this initiative once again and welcome the opportunity to support an activity that help us to deliver on our mandate and to provide entertainment and education to citizens."
