To celebrate Safe Roads Day, Guinness UDV encouraged taxi drivers to play their part in making South African roads safer. Audio inserts in special edition Star Music cassettes combined with promoters using educational trailers and gazebos to motivate drivers to place passenger safety first.
As an added incentive, Guinness UDV sponsored the 'No. 1 Taxi Driver' competition. To register for the competition, drivers SMSed the word "TAXI", followed by their vehicle registration numbers to a dedicated competition line. Commuters voted for their number 1 taxi driver, by SMSing the word VOTE followed by the selected registration numbers to the competition line.
"Our SMS marketing service enables advertisers to embark on marketing campaigns allowing target markets to interact with the brand," says Kevin Kirby, Group Marketing Manager for ComutaNet. "Call to action responses enable advertisers to immediately gauge the reaction to the campaign."
