Women's breakfast addresses empowerment of women
She was invited to address the workshop on her role and expertise linked to the 'Beyond the Dress' workshops and corporate events, covering the relevant subject of 'being a successful business woman in a male dominated world'.
Other speakers included Katy Katapodis, 702 radio personality, motivational speaker, group editor in chief Eye-Witness News and author; Doris Msibi, image and etiquette coach, TV presenter, business woman and director of Youth on Point; and Yavi Madurai, entrepreneur, facilitator and business consultant.
"The stats clearly show that women are not making it to the top positions in business today; it is so important to discuss this topic, as it is about the messages we tell ourselves, our colleagues and our daughters," notes Milner. "As working women, we need to start making sure we don't sabotage ourselves from achieving success and being aware of what we can do to ensure we support each other in the corporate world."
Work/life balance
Her address included discussion around work/life balance, stress management, the importance of 'me' time and overall how to empower women in the workplace. She also encouraged women to take the first step, to challenge fear and have the courage to start the journey.
The topic had immediate relevance to her work of holding regular workshops to provide toolkits for the modern day working women. Through events, she is able to provide women with the expertise that they can apply and adapt to their own lives. A message and practical advice for women who want to achieve the most in the corporate world.
The next Beyond the Dress event will be hosted on 11 November 2012 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel on the topic of being a modern working woman. For more, go to www.beyondthedress.co.za.
