This version is the fifth installment of the suite of mobile apps designed and developed by Prezence Digital and Ster-Kinekor. The app is also currently available for Symbian, Meego, Android (phone and tablet), and iOS devices. Owing to BlackBerry's dominance of the South African smartphone market, this version is the most important.
Lynette Hundermark, head of product strategy at Prezence Digital, says the success of BlackBerry in the South African market, currently holding over 46% of the market share (according to business technology research firm World Wide Worx) makes this possibly the largest and most important launch of the client's app to date. It was imperative that the company broke new boundaries in Blackberry app design and provided the same great user experience that was delivered across the other smartphone platforms.
