Early bird registration for Design Indaba

The Design Indaba Expo's growth looks set to continue for the 2008 edition, with Interactive Africa reporting that 75% of the expo is already sold out and 35% of the exhibitors are first timers. The organisers are also encouraging early bird registration for the Design Indaba Conference, as the conference – which has a capacity of 1500 delegates – has been sold out two years in a row.

The Emerging Creatives programme runs concurrently with the Design Indaba Expo. This initiative identifies students or emerging creatives that show great design potential and gives them the opportunity to present their work at the Design Indaba Expo, where they have access and exposure to local and international media, agencies and companies. The participants are also invited to attend the first day of the Young Designers Simulcast. Deadline for entry is 15 November.

Every year the Design Indaba Expo showcases the best South African short films, music videos and animations. This year the film festival will be screened in between fashion shows in the new dedicated fashion arena. Both the films and fashion will be open to all Design Indaba Expo visitors. A wide variety of established filmmakers are approached and invited to submit their film offering. However, filmmakers may also submit their work for consideration. Films may not exceed 12 minutes in length. There is no cost involved in participation. Entries close on 30 October.
