Emmy for Eye of the Leopard
Feature film Eye of the Leopard earlier this week walked off with an Emmy Award in the category for Best Science, Technology and Nature feature in New York. Since its launch the film has made headlines at the Jules Verne Festival in Paris, was nominated at Jackson Hole for Best Writing/Script and received the Municipality of Cogne prize at the Valle d'Aosta International nature film festival.
In addition to this, Eye of the Leopard has been awarded the Golden Ibex trophy for the predatory and animalistic photography content, which has left many in awe and admiration for the survival, trials and tribulations faced by a predator in the Botswana Wilderness.
Produced by filmmakers Dereck and Beverley Joubert, Mark Phillips of Audio Matrix at the Refinery was assigned to master its sound. After weeks of dedication and relentless audio editing and mixing, Philips has reaped the rewards by producing a ‘soundtastic' work of art. “What's even more phenomenal is the fact that this film has won the Junior Popular Jury trophy,” says Phillips, “This was voted by children between the ages of 9 and 13 for best film of the year.”
