Scan's MD is the first African board member for IFES
Justin Hawes, MD of exhibition specialist, Scan Display, has been elected to the IFES Board as Treasurer. IFES is the International Federation of Exhibition and Event Services, and has a global network of 192 members from almost 40 countries. The Board consists of four members, and this is the first time that an African member has been represented on the Board.
Hawes says: "It is such an honour to be included in the new 2013 IFES committee, and especially because the board members have always been from Europe and America. I am now in a position to share my experiences and knowledge about our industry in Africa to a far wider network. It's very exciting."
Scan Display was the first South African company to join IFES in 2005, and Hawes has been an active member since then. He was instrumental in the formation of a Sustainability Committee and has been on this committee for the past two years. He is also the Chairman of the organising committee for the upcoming IFES World Summit 2013, the association's annual conference and AGM which will be hosted in Cape Town from 28 to 29 June 2013.
