Putting the world in the shade

At the opening day of Cape Town Fashion Week last week, models for local fashion brand Darkie swept the ramp like an unseasonal South Easter. In doing so, reports Terry Levin, the label showed enough seriously snazzy deconstructed tailoring and attention-to-detail in their immaculately tailored jeans and denim wear to blow most any other global leisurewear brands off the map.

Let's face it, every global brand was once only five years old, and it seems that the label could be laying the groundwork for the creation of an empire.
