ACA academy expands course offerings

As a consequence of the Africa Academy for Communications (AAC) reviewing its 2007 courses in order to make them shorter, sharper and more interactive, the academy will now be offering breakfasts, seminars and workshops featuring experts from the advertising and marketing industries.

"Over the last few months we have been receiving input and feedback from the industry and we have taken the advice and designed shorter more concise courses that provide platforms for dialogue and networking," says Alexia Georgiou, the AAC Academy Manager.

Launched last year, the AAC is an initiative aimed at increasing skills and improving professionalism and credibility of industry professionals already working in the industry. It is wholly owned by the Association for Communication and Advertising (ACA).

Georgiou says that the academy has not abandoned its focus of bridging the gap between theory and practice. It will continue to provide practical and relevant training that is applicable to the work environment through exposing learners to a professional, well-structured training programme with high quality multi-disciplined and practical courses, to meet the developing needs of advertising agency staff.

"We are an evolving and dynamic industry and we will continue to evaluate and review our courses to reflect industry trends," concludes Zandile Nzalo, CEO of the ACA.
