Unions reject Telkom wage offer
Unions, led by Solidarity, have rejected a wage offer from Telkom and the dispute between the unions and the telecommunication utility was referred to the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration on Tuesday according to an article published on Business Live.
The CCMA asked that Telkom obtain a mandate for a wage increase of between 7,5% and 8% after the utility offered workers a wage increase of just 5%. Business Live says that in terms of the wage offer, workers will receive 5% for the period from April to September and 6% between October and March 2012.
It says that Solidarity is demanding and increase of 10%.
