The Great Moscow Circus coming to SA
The Great Moscow Circus is coming back to South Africa and is presented by M-Net, Sun International and Hunta Live. The circus spectacular will be held in March and April at Carnival City's Big Top Arena and GrandWest's Grand Arena.
The circus is the most durable and most loved form of entertainment and The Great Moscow Circus, with its rich tradition, wealth of talent and sustained development over the past 90 years, claims to be the standard by which all other circuses are judged.
“The Great Moscow Circus is in constant and high demand around the world, and has always been enthusiastically welcomed and supported in South Africa on its infrequent visits to our shores.
“Sun International is proud not only to be presenting the Great Moscow Circus in all its glory this year, but also to be breaking new ground by doing this in our custom-built arenas at Carnival City in Johannesburg and GrandWest in Cape Town,” said Rod Walker, head of entertainment at Sun International.
Enhanced structures
The sophisticated arenas are in line with worldwide preferred venues, particularly those in Russia, where many venues are tailored especially for circus shows to allow for even more death-defying arial work and a technically enhanced overall experience for the audience than that of the old temporary tent structures.
Walker added: “We are also pleased and proud to announce that ticket prices (starting from as little as R50 for children at Carnival City) have been held at the same levels as when the circus last visited South Africa in 2006. This is family value at its best!”
No animals
While performing animals are part of circus tradition, modern circus relies on human endeavour and not on animals. The true circus is a tribute to man himself and his mastery over his own physical limitations. As such, the Great Moscow Circus Tour will not feature any animals in the show, but will keep audiences amazed and surprised anew by the variety and artistry offered by the many talented acts.
Come and experience one of the crown jewels of Russia's rich cultural heritage, and an evening of unforgettable excitement with The Great Moscow Circus' performance at Carnival City's Big Top Arena from 26 March to 11 April 2010 and GrandWest's Grand Arena from 16 April to 27 April 2010.
