Writing Studio to hold bootcamp for budding screenwriters
The Writing Studio will hold a two-day motivational Bootcamp for Screenwriters on 23-24 April 2016 in Cape Town.
This will challenge budding screenwriters to write the first pages of their screenplay in two days, as the hands-on bootcamp turns thoughts into ideas, and ideas into words.
Writing coach, Daniel Dercksen, will take writers through an organic process of kick starting their screenplay and support the writers in completing their screenplays after the bootcamp. Attendees will be able to take an idea from abstract thought to the first pages of their screenplay for feature film, short film or the pilot of a TV series.
Dercksen, the driving force behind the Writing Studio, has been a published film and theatre journalist for 30 years and has been teaching workshops in creative writing, playwriting and screenwriting throughout South Africa the past 19 years.
The bootcamp is ideal for writers who would like to master the art of conceptualising their idea, define and develop the primary characters in their story, develop their plot with 14 structural points, and format the first pages of their screenplay.
