MultiChoice Africa and Cell C team up to bring 'Fame and Misfortune' on DStv's games portal

'Fame or Misfortune' will entertain subscribers with amusing new story lines every Monday and Thursday for the duration of the quiz, keeping it fresh and engaging. The quiz randomly selects 10 questions per game from a pool of questions - hence no game will be the same.

Players have 120 seconds to show their mates what they are made of. The quiz will calculate a code that is called into an IVR line to enter the competition. Subscribers may enter as many times as they like. Weekly cash prizes of R15000 sponsored by MultiChoice, and 21 daily prizes of T68 Sony Ericcson cell phones and cy starter packs and hampers (t-shirt, cap, cy badge), sponsored by Cell C are up for grabs.

Richard Fyffe, MultiChoice's General Manager - Interactive says "Channel 45, the Fun & Games portal, has been a phenomenal success. 'Games' is a leading interactive service internationally and the quiz, which embodies all elements of interactivity, is a very popular games offering. From the excellent response received in last year's 'Brain vs Brawn Quiz', the quiz has potential for repeat showings."

Said Cell C Chief Commercial Officer José dos Santos " Cell C and MultiChoice have collaborated for the second time to bring subscribers additional value and entertainment. Last year, the 'Brain vs Brawn Quiz' proved to be a great success with around 6000 entries received daily. One hundred and sixty nine thousand entries were received during the course of the competition, which was run over 27 days. We look forward to even greater participation with 'Fame or Misfortune'."

'Fame or Misfortune' will be launched on 20 October on Channel 45 of the DStv bouquet, and will run for 21 days.
