Travel mag now on TV

The magazine's features, as well as interviews with its contributors and discussions on travel destinations with Wegbreek editor Gerrit Rautenbach, are the focus of six eight-minute slots allocated to the title over the programme's 13 weeks (during which four Wegbreek ads will also be flighted).

The programme's format includes a segment devoted to an area, activity or type of holiday, a celebrity guest talking about travel and a look at relevant books and websites.

In the first programme – filmed around a potjie fire – Gerrit explained Wegbreek's positioning and discussed the magazine's November lead story on elephants. In the most recent episode, musician Valiant Swart and author Rian Malan, both contributors to the Wegbreek's ‘Radio Langpad' column, talked about the relationship between music and travel.

Reise en Soetkyse flights on Sunday mornings at 7.30pm until the end of December 2007. A further 13-part series is under consideration.
