Calling film-makers... Second edition of Journeys Awards open for entries
During the inaugural Journeys Awards in 2009, four South African short films were selected for the final 15 - a great result given the quality of the other countries' entries - and indeed the countries of origin. Countries represented were:
4 South Africa
1 Belgium
1 England
1 Netherlands
2 Hong Kong
1 Taiwan
1 Australia
1 Korea
3 America
William Nicholson from AFDA was placed fourth with his entry Luhambo. It can be viewed on the website.
Travel has been at the heart of Louis Vuitton since its inception. For this second edition, Louis Vuitton has chosen the theme of "Encounter".
Encounter is part of every journey. It can be an illuminating experience, a face to face with reality, a celebration of the unknown...Emerging filmmakers are invited online on www.journeysawards.com to show what a meaningful encounter means to them.
This second-edition website, designed as an inspirational platform, will be enriched with various video contents. Contestants will find an exclusive brief by filmmaker and Official Jury president Luca Guadagnino, a manifesto sharing the vision of journey and encounter by Louis Vuitton, and useful guidelines about the project.
The journey continues on www.jouneysawards.com
