Orlando Pirates plead guilty to charges of misconduct

Orlando Pirates FC appeared before the PSL Disciplinary Committee this evening on charges of misconduct.

This related to spectator misbehavior in their Absa Premiership match against Mamelodi Sundowns at Coca Cola Park on 04 March 2009, wherein their spectators invaded the pitch in a celebratory mode.

Orlando Pirates FC pleaded guilty to the above charge.

They were fined R200 000.00 which is wholly suspended for 12 months.

They were also ordered to pay the costs of the hearing which amounts to approximately R21 000.00

The DC also ordered them to send a written apology to the League and further ordered Orlando Pirates FC to apologize on a minimum of six radio stations which could include a combination of community and commercial stations.
