No movement on the big screen - cinema audiences remain stable.

Stable is the word which best describes the medium of cinema. There was only one profile change - 4 week average over 12 months viewing is up on the West Rand - and penetration figures are static. (AMPS does not measure the cinema-going habits of the under-16s, a significant section of cinema's audience.)

  • Past 7 days - 1.4% penetration (435 000 attendees), returning to AMPS 2003A levels.
  • Past 14 days - returning to AMPS 2003A levels, penetration is 2.7% (823 000 attendees).
  • 4 week average over 12 months - 6.3% (1.900-million attendees), with growth in the West Rand.
