After the second day of D&AD judging, 157 further Pencils were awarded across the six categories of Crafts for Advertising, Crafts for Design (19 Pencils), Integrated and Innovative Media, Magazine and Newspaper Design, Creativity for Good and the inaugural PR category, making it 235 pencils awarded in total so far.

While we know we're coming home with a clutch of pencils, we'll have to wait until the award ceremony at Battersea Evolution on 19 May to find out whether those pencils are wood, graphite, yellow, white or black.
That said, South Africa’s winning work from the day includes a definite white pencil for not-for-profit creativity for good, awarded to Utopia for Birdlife South Africa. The ‘uncoloured’ pencils awarded thus far go to Nando's global packaging by Famous Copy, as well as TBWA Hunt/Lascaris' radio work for Flight Centre and Tiger Brands, and Ogilvy's radio work for clients Lucozade and KFC. All of the winning work will appear in the 54th D&AD Annual published later this year, and as there's no quota for awards at D&AD, the number of awarded entries fluctuates year to year. The inaugural D&AD Festival also begins today, with over 150 speakers such as Sir Martin Sorrell, Ashleigh Axios and Sir Paul Smith)taking to the stage at the Old Truman Brewery over the next three days.
