Special Assignment, new host, new slot
Special Assignment has a new host, Ashraf Garda, the SAfm radio presenter (current affairs, media and marketing) and sports anchor. The show moves to a new time slot on Wednesdays at 9.30pm from Wednesday, 6 April 2011.
He was used regularly on CNN, Al Jazeera and CBC Canada during the 2010 FIFA World Cup, where he provided analysis on Brand South Africa, the socio-political state of the country and Africa's best hope. He is described as on-air persona that is authoritative, objective, balanced, driven and blunt; and who asks great questions.
Garda told Bizcommunity.com, when asked if he would still be doing Media@SAfm on Sundays, "Yes, I will continue with it - it's too enjoyable - and for April at least, but maybe longer, I will host Talk Shop on SAfm from 7-9pm week nights."
