DJ Phat Joe leaves Heart 104.9FM to pursue other interests

On Friday 12 October 2012, Phat Joe hosted his last breakfast show on Heart 104.9 FM, announcing he has decided to focus his time and energy on his TV show Real Goboza on SABC 1 and MTN's new cellphone radio service, MTN Play Radio.

Brandon Leigh has been a regular stand-in for Phat Joe, understands what a morning show entails and will fill the slot for the time being. According to MD Gavin Meiring, the station is considering some exciting options for the new morning show and will soon make an announcement.
