Joining forces to promote SA music

Other Mother, a music company whose expertise lies in producing and recording artists, music publishing and 1ESAMP (1st Eva South African Music Podcast) have entered into a partnership to promote local talent.

"Other Mother partnered with 1ESAMP in October 2009 when we recognised the potential of the podcast as a key platform to promote South African music," said Ryan Lazarus, entrepreneur and a founding member of Other Mother.

Isaac Klawansky, also a founder of Other Mother, added: "We strive to develop and expose the raw talent that is so abundant in all the different genres of the South African music scene."

Listeners on the move

"Technology has revolutionised the music scene with the play-now, listen-to-it-later craze," said Steven Cohen, CEO of Triple S Solutions and founder of 1ESAMP. "Podcasting allows us to reach listeners on the move because it enables individuals to download a show on to a computer and then
transfer it to their iPods or MP3 players. From there they can listen to the show at their own convenience."

Other Mother and 1ESAMP podcasts a monthly show featuring the best of South Africa's musical talent. "The idea of the podcast is to expose our dynamic music scene, with its interesting facets and genres, to as many people as possible," commented Klawansky.
