Mobile industry report for February 2014

Faster connectivity, thinner devices, processors that are more powerful, better displays and new form factors being introduced every year making 2014 no different.

Highlights in this month's mobile report include Facebook's $19 billion acquisition of WhatsApp and Rakuten's $900 million Viber deal. The IM market has heated up with WeChat, currently ranked the number one free app in South Africa's Apple App store and Mxit has also had a busy February.
