The Clios appoints South African judge

In an exciting breakthrough for South Africa, Mike Schalit has been elected Chairman of the Clio Print Awards in Las Vegas.

This is the first time a South African has been elevated to Chairman of a recognised international awards festival. The Creative Circle endorses the Clios as one of the Big Four international awards shows amongst Cannes, D&AD and One Show.

"This is a great vote of confidence for South African creativity," according to Creative Circle Chairman, Gerry Human. "We've always outpunched our weight internationally and this kind of world platform is long overdue."

Mike was unanimously voted in by the panel of Clio jurors made up of 15 leading creative directors from around the world, from countries as far afield as China, Argentina, New Zealand, Singapore, America, The United Kingdom and Europe. Mike will duly represent the jury at the Awards Festival Ceremony in Miami from the 15 - 18 May 2004.
