Show that dialup is dead in iBurst competition

Dialup is dead. You know it. iBurst knows it. Now all you have to do is convince South Africa that this is in fact so. Creative South Africans who can do just that with an original television, radio or print ad of their own design, stand a chance of winning prizes worth over R50 000 in the iBurst Ad Competition.

“The idea is to delve into the minds of South Africans and find out how they think about broadband versus dialup,” says Callia Doucas, head of marketing at iBurst. Interested participants will need to register and submit their entries on www.iburstcompetition.co.za by 31 December 2008.

The ads should focus on the advantages of iBurst broadband over dialup connectivity. The best ads will be selected by the number of views and ratings on the website. The winning ads may be flighted nationally in March 2009, giving the winners national exposure. The prize, worth R50 000, is an Apple Macbook Pro and iBurst Wireless Internet connectivity for two years.

“This is an opportunity for all South Africans with creative flair to get their ideas seen nationally. The adverts need not be professionally created. Just a quick video taken on a cellphone or a sketched print advert would suffice,” adds Doucas. “We encourage entrants to be as creative as possible and push the limits of the possible to communicate their message. It's about having fun with the concept and experimenting.”
