Cape Union Mart introduces store card

Outdoor adventure retailer Cape Union Mart has introduced its own store card. Based on the principle of a credit card, consumers will be able to enjoy the benefit of up to 55 days interest free and an additional card for a secondary card holder will be available, if the principal card holder so chooses.

The intention behind the Cape Union Mart store card is to widen the appeal of this outdoor and leisure brand beyond its existing market. With 52 stores currently in operation in several of South Africa's most prominent malls, Cape Union Mart attracts customers who regard themselves as outdoor-orientated and akin to the overall imagery of the brand.

Above-the-line store card advertising will occur in the broader Cape Union Mart media landscape and include a radio campaign, as well as in-store POS material.

Old Khaki, the youthful, urban brand that was first established by Cape Union Mart seven years ago and sold solely in these stores, has due to rapid growth created the need for a stand-alone concept store and necessitated its own individual store card. Both store cards can be used in either Cape Union Mart or Old Khaki stores across the country.

Store card applications are available in all Cape Union Mart and Old Khaki stores.
