Local band attracts international producer
SAMA-nominated band The Graeme Watkins Project has been scouted by multi-platinum producer Jeff Blue whilst performing at the Musexpo showcase in Los Angeles. The band, best known for hits such as Music Affair and Bloodshot Eyes, has extended their stay in Hollywood to record with Blue, whose success stories include Macy Gray and Linkin Park.
Blue's career has been focused on artist development and to date his commitment has resulted in the region of 130 million record sales globally.
"Working with someone of this calibre is like taking the master class you've always wanted but never had access to and now it is really happening. Its an absolutely amazing feeling!" said Graeme Watkins.
Graeme Watkins Project, often known simply as GWP, released their debut album Corridors of the Mind in 2011 and so far, it has spawned no fewer than five radio singles. The band is made up of Watkins (vocals), Rudo Pieterse (bass), Matthew Marinus (drums) and Ryno Zielie (guitar). A new album is currently in the making.
