Six Seconds to host emotional intelligence course
"The Harvard Business Review maintains that Emotional Intelligence isn't a luxury you can dispense with in tough times. It's a basic tool that, deployed with finesse, is key to professional success," said Candice Smith, Six Seconds' South African host of the workshop. "The EQ certification course will benefit managers, leaders, trainers, counsellors, organisational development coaches, psychologists and educators," Smith said. "Individuals also frequently attend for their own personal growth, seeking to incorporate EQ into their work and life."
The five-day, hands-on workshop builds capacity for transformation with emotional intelligence to enable clients and employees to increase personal, team and organisational performance, thus maximising the potential of human capital and developing core competence.
Delegates are licensed to use tools
It explains the benefits of EQ in driving performance, leadership, learning and effective decision-making and how to put the science into action. This is achieved by reviewing the latest research on the brain, emotions and performance and by exploring a range of topics such as emotional literacy, neuroscience, changing behavioural patterns, consequential thinking, optimism and transforming emotions. After completing certification, delegates are licensed to use the tools, modules and models from the course.
The workshop will be run by Dubai-based Jayne Morrison, regional director of Six Seconds' Middle East and Africa EQ network. She has conducted training workshops in the UK, Europe, China, Russia and America to a wide range of clients including Holiday Inn, Richemont, Allied Pickfords and Novartis.
With a post-graduate degree in Human Resource Management and a post-graduate diploma in Learning and Development, Morrison is among a handful of Six Seconds advanced EQ practitioners in the world and a master trainer of the Six Seconds certification programmes.
