Gateway celebrates 10 years of shopping
Over four thousand entries were received and on 20 September 2011, a Commissioner of Oaths randomly selected ten finalists from the entries.
The finalists, together with their partners who had to spend R200 or more to enter the competition, participated in five tasks at Gateway on Saturday 24 September 2011. Teams earned points according to how well they competed in each task and the three teams with the lowest scores were eliminated, leaving seven teams who will be put to a second round of challenges at Gateway on 1 October 2011.
From these challenges, three more teams will be eliminated and four teams will remain. The public can then vote for their favourite finalist via SMS and win a R2000 Gateway shopping voucher.
"A memorable event"
On 8 October 2011, the ultimate winner of all challenges will be announced as voted for by the public at a VIP event at the Wave House, Gateway where the Malibu Flow Champs will be taking place as well as a free concert featuring local bands: Locnville, the Graeme Watkins Project and City Bowl Mizers.
Its MD, Doug Mayne, says, "The Lifestyle marketing team plans on making the 10th birthday a memorable event by hosting an array of themed campaigns and activities within the mall to showcase a realm of theatrics synonymous to its positioning as the 'Gateway Theatre of Shopping'.
"The company creates marketing strategies and events designed to enhance the shopping experience and elevate our malls as lifestyle destinations within their surrounding areas. We look forward to the next ten years of partnership with the property owner, its shoppers and its tenants," he concludes.
