Task team to implement Auditor General's report recommendations at SABC
A task team has been appointed at the SABC to deal with the implementation of all the issues that were raised in the Auditor General's (Attorney General) report.
Some of the issues have been implemented but there was concern from both Parliament and the Department of Communications that the public broadcaster should expedite the implementation.
In his first week as acting chief operations officer, Hlaudi Motsoeneng has appointed Sully Motsoene and Tiaan Olivier to head up the team composed of internal personnel that have expertise suitable for the issues raised in the AG report. The team has been given one month to finalise the implementation and report to the Acting COO.
The SABC would like to assure the public that it is committed to good governance and this committee will go a long way in fulfilling that commitment. Its legal, audit and risk divisions will provide assurance on the outcome of the whole process, ensuring that all the objectives and goals of the task team are executed accordingly and that the set goals are met.
