Tony Koenderman's AdReview out soon
It will be published with Finance Week on April 5 (and in Afrikaans with Finansies & Tegniek), and editor Tony Koenderman's promise is that it will be the most comprehensive information resource about advertising and marketing available.
"We're positioning AdReview as the marketer's essential guide book to marketing communications," says Koenderman. "This is further enhanced by the Media Facts booklet inserted into every copy. Media Facts is prepared by OMD, and provides a wealth of information about circulations, TV and radio audiences and adspend.
"Clients may need to know, for example, which agencies have met their empowerment quotas, or who are the biggest advertisers. Perhaps they are considering doing some public relations, and want a selection of PR consultancies to choose from. Or do they need to know which were SA's most popular TV ads last year? All this information and more will be available in the pages of AdReview."
Ranking tables are published, even though international agencies no longer disclose financial results. These will be based on actual figures for local agencies, and estimates for international agencies. "We have done a lot of work to make our estimates as accurate as possible," says Koenderman. "We believe this is a necessary piece of information or marketers, who need to know whether the agency they choose is of a suitable size for their account."
The publication will be launched at a function in Johannesburg on April 1, at which AdReview's Ad Agency of the Year awards will be presented.
