A product which saves time and cuts the cost of communication between credit/debit card terminals and the banks was launched last year and is achieving significant success in the marketplace. Well-known retail chains, shopping malls and the hospitality sector have all seized this new technology.
Called the XLink Communicator, the product utilises GPRS and cell-based technology to provide merchants with an alternative communication channel. It is the first service of its kind in South Africa and has been fully-approved by ABSA, First National Bank, Nedbank and Standard Bank to provide cell-based, electronic funds transfer (EFT) communication services.
