With over 12 years of experience in local economic development, private-public partnership, stakeholder engagement, enterprise and supplier development and engagement with communities, he brings a wealth of expertise with him to Sappi.
Thabani currently serves as Chairperson of the KwaZulu-Natal Business Chambers Council (KBCC) Task Team for Governance, President of the Zululand Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ZCCI) and council member of the South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SACCI), notwithstanding several industry bodies in KwaZulu-Natal.
He holds a Postgraduate Diploma: Management & Marketing from the University of Cape Town and has been an active member of special project committees for Richards Bay Minerals, South 32 and other large corporates.
Thabani is entrusted with a mandate to develop Sappi Southern Africa’s stakeholder strategy, with specific focus on national and provincial government, and Sappi’s communities. Additionally, he will serve as support to Sappi Limited on South African stakeholder affairs.
