Omwieco to redevelop Onverwacht Estate as secure environment

Omwieco has been approached by Investec Private Bank to take over the development of a liquidated estate and has agreed to embark on this venture as the project developer for the Onverwacht Estate. Its vision for the estate is for it to become the catalyst in integrating the Eastern Growth Region of the Helderberg Basin.

The development of the estate is to create a secure environment free of crime with modern technology for inhabitants and patrons of the middle income group of South Africa. Omwieco has taken the vision of the estate further by developing two dams within the estate, which use modern technology to clean the estate's water source via bioswales.

Ramees Miller from Power Group has been the most proactive contractor that Omwiecod has had, as he has been proactively thinking about solutions in making the development a success for the estate and the surrounding communities.

The project created an underpass that has linked the surrounding communities to Somerset West. The bridge that has been built will create a safer route for pedestrians, cyclists and motorists alike.

Job opportunities for the surrounding communities

Dinah Adams, known as the Chris Nissen Park community leader, has formed a pact with Omwieco to ensure that the surrounding communities will be provided job opportunities and Omwieco has kept up the pact as it has been creating job opportunities for the surrounding communities since October 2012.

Ian Odendaal, founder and director of Omnicron said: "The use of effective urban design and architecture is being used to create a sought-after development and a Land Release Programme that will ensure added value to homeowners."

Mark Teuchert, director of Lazercor said: "The development is here to service the community of Somerset West and its surrounds, and with such a development of creating an underpass, we will be able to eliminate level crossings at the railway line, thus creating a safer and secure alternative for the locals."

To date, Power Group and Omwieco have not lost any development time and are on schedule to finish the project by mid-June 2013.
