City agency launches premier arts and entertainment magazine - 'Culture'
With frequent international and local exhibitions, stage acts, cultural displays and events, the city is fast becoming the cultural hub of Gauteng. As a result, the need arose for a full publication to document this cultural revolution and promote the city's cultural activities and events.
'Culture' replaces the listings brochure previously produced by the JDA to promote the city's cultural activities within the inner city, Newtown, Braamfontein and surrounding districts.
The new publication is a larger glossy with features, profiles, reviews and interviews as well as accurate listings for local events. It is available throughout the year with four editions available at local bookstores and venues.
Du Toit Majola, city based advertising agency, who produces and publishes the new glossy, coined its new title 'Culture' to signify the different cultures that embrace the new city.
Karen du Toit, co-owner of Du Toit Majola explained: 'So many people are still largely unaware of the city's charms as a cultural hub. The magazine will go a long way to promote the city as an entertainment and lifestyle destination. We're excited to be based here and daily experience the creative momentum brought about by the city's regeneration and development.'
The launch will take place on the 7th of April 2005 at BMW City Auto, the first black-owned BMW dealership in the country.
