Loeries Festival Weekend events, booking details

It's time to book your event tickets for the 31st Annual Loerie Awards from Thursday 24 to Sunday 27 September 2009.

Festival weekend

A small number of Very Important Ego (VIE) are still available (access to all VIP areas throughout the weekend as well as the Mayor's Function on Thursday). Some gallery seats have been held back for educational institutions so if you're a school and still hoping to get your hands on one of these tickets contact the Loeries office.

Very Important Ego ticket holders (VIE's) all get invited to the Mayor's Welcome Party on Thursday 24 September.

Also on Thursday evening, all ticket holders get access to the Battle of the Bands and the Chairman's Party.

Awards ceremonies

The industry elite as well as local celebrities, business leaders and politicians will all be celebrating the awards. The dress code is glamorous and sexy, stylish and gorgeous, formal but fun.

The Communication Design and Print Media awards will be hosted by Ads24 on Friday and the Electronic Awards (Radio, TV, Digital, Online Advertising) as well as Live Events, Mixed-Media and Integrated Campaigns will be hosted by the SABC on Saturday.

After-parties on Friday and Saturday will be in Long Street and include a fantastic line-up of DJs till the sun rises. And the festivities continue during the day along the Camps Bay beachfront on Friday and Saturday.

Agency lunches in Camps Bay

Restaurants and cafes along the Camps Bay strip have been pre-booked for Loeries delegates for Friday and Saturday daytime activities. Anyone can attend the Camps Bay functions, so use this opportunity to host your company lunch or sip on cocktails overlooking the Atlantic. Battle of the Bands

The Battle of the Bands takes place at Assembly on Thursday, 24 September. The winning band goes home with a week at the Red Bull Music Academy's recording studio as well as a performance at a Big Concerts Festival in 2010! The winner will also be covered by Ads24 media and receive prizes from Brandhouse. Email to enter your Agency band.

Flights and travel

Special Mango flights are available with return fares from R1389 Jo'burg or Durban to Cape Town, and cars are available from Tempest Car Hire for as little as R149 per day.

Cape Town offers numerous taxi and shuttle services to get you from CT International Airport to the city, so please make sure you arrange your own wheels to get you into the Loeries Village.

A shuttle service will be provided in the Loeries Village with links to all official accommodation. The shuttles will run during the daytime on Thursday and 24 hours on Friday and Saturday. The shuttles will also run to Camps Bay over Kloofnek during the day on Friday and Saturday, and to the Good Hope Centre for the awards ceremonies. Special Park and Ride facilities will also be provided for Loeries delegates living in Cape Town and shuttles will run to these parking areas. Please remember that this service does not extend outside the Loeries Village and does not include the airport.

Accommodation

Long Street and the surrounding areas will be transformed into the Loeries Village for the awards weekend from 24 to 27 September. Agencies are encouraged to book accommodation in the area which offers everything from backpackers to five star hotels, and all official accommodation can be booked via Cape Town Tourism's special Loeries minisite (www.capetown.travel/loeries/).
