The Creative Circle Ad of the Month results for February 2014 have been announced, and chairperson for the advertising judging panel that month, Jenny Glover - Net#Work BDDO comments: "We have not covered ourselves in glory this month. What we have covered ourselves in, is brown (mostly) and rhymes with tit. Thankfully however, there were a few glimmers of hope."

RadioThe radio category was spectacularly rubbish. The winners have my permission to have a few drinks but the rest of you should return to
your computers and self-flagellate.
PrintIn print, the saddest, brownest little category of all this month, the jury decided to only award first place. This went to two executions for the Cape Times from Lowe Cape Town. The category was too small and weak to award a second and third.
FilmMoving swiftly along to film. Not a massive category with lots of rehashed ideas and strategic sameness. That said, it should be no surprise that The Reader from King James took first place. I got something in my eye while watching it, but from what I could see through the tears, a very well crafted piece of work.
Out of homeThere was a slightly better showing for out of home. Owen Kessel Leo Burnett's Salvation Army blanket drive and TBWA's Road Lodge tie for first place. Both very worthy winners. Metropolitan Republic's witty Hippo posters were expertly executed and well deserving of second place. Nice to see some good craft on this.

Congratulations to everyone who managed to bob to the top and to the rest of you, enjoy your sandwich of shame.
