Creating a winning culture in government one webinar at a time
The two-hour virtual session was one of many proactive interventions by Enterprises UP in creating future-fit organisations rooted in empowered leaders. Over 40 attendees from various management levels within government attended this motivational session, with a common objective to tackle the mandated priorities of the South African government in 2021.
As a keynote speaker for the event, Ramsamy was able to share insight and notable points in a vibrant and interactive way. She outlined some of the main characteristics of successful cultures in the work environment: they are designed intentionally, have an established framework and common language and are leader-led.
The Peter Drucker quote – “Culture eats strategy for breakfast, and it is only when you fully understand what this means, that you’ll lead a successful organisation” – was used as the foundation of the session where she further delved into the importance of a culture and a strategy that complements one another in order to be successful. Culture must be understood as the ‘soil’ in which the strategy as the ‘seed’ will flourish. A winning culture is the fuel for a winning strategy.
This experience was fruitful for those in attendance and would be pivotal in their roles in creating and sustaining winning cultures within their organisations.
Enterprises UP was further able to use this platform as an opportunity to extend its training offering to managers, senior and executive managers, municipal managers, deputy directors, directors, chief directors and CEOs in SOEs, who wish to enrol for the Master Class in Building a Winning Culture in Government course in partnership with FranklinCovey South Africa, starting 2 August 2021. The course will further elaborate on key areas addressed during the webinar and will be an essential tool in assisting leadership in private and public sectors to lead in a way that inspires trust, unleashes talent, aligns systems and clarifies purpose.
