Comments Xolisa Dyeshana (@XolisaDyeshana), chairperson for the month: "Overall, February was a good show for Ad of the Month. We saw some really insightful, well-crafted pieces and that was very encouraging, especially so close to awards season.

"The only negative was the lack of entries in certain categories, giving that it is international awards season, particularly in print."

GeneralOverall, February was a good show for Ad of the Month. We saw some really insightful, well-crafted pieces and that was very encouraging, especially so close to awards season. The only negative was the lack of entries in certain categories, giving that it is international awards season, particularly in print.
PrintAs mentioned, there weren't as many entries as we would have liked, but the pieces that shone through were well-deserving, particularly our first place winner, who managed to use a typical medium in a very creative way.
FilmTV had some very strong hitters this month, with a feeling that we (South Africa) are starting to do some great TV on some difficult brands. A case in point for this was a Koo spot from Draftfcb Johannesburg, which didn't come in the top three and yet was incredibly well received. Well done to the worthy top three.
RadioThis was by far the biggest category in terms of entries, meaning the standard varied. Praise goes to our winning spot, which was all about fun. It was simple, punchy and to the point. It was great to see someone enjoying an often after-thought medium and bringing some life back into it.
Ambient/outdoorThis was our strongest category this month and the work was really insightful and engaging.
ExperientialA category on the up. Some really well thought out pieces, particularly our first place winner, which married cinema and reality beautifully.
