Oasys alliance with Gearhouse, gets preferred supplier status

Oasys Innovations and Gearhouse South Africa have decided to formalise a strategic alliance that has seen both companies collaborate on two large international projects, namely the City of Annecy Activation at the International Olympic Committee meetings and COP17 Conference in Durban. Oasys has also been nominated the preferred supplier of infrastructure for the Sandton Convention Centre (SCC).

"Having the combined strength and assets of both organisations will ensure that we can offer clients, both in South Africa and Africa, innovative systems and state of the art technology," says Oasys Innovations chief executive Brian Kennedy. "The alliance offers a range of infrastructure, equipment and hiring options, affording the client a 'one stop shop' experience, thus eliminating the number of service providers a client has to deal with in the future."

Gearhouse SA joint managing director, Ofer Lapid said, "This is a first strategic alliance of this nature to take place in South Africa, with the prime view that business objectives are changing and clients are wanting a more streamlined approach to doing business, ensuring that they get the very best for their event, without the perception of utilising conflicting brands."

Preferred supplier status

Oasys Innovations and SCC have signed a service level agreement (SLA) to formalise the agreement.

"Proximity to markets and customers has always been part of our business strategy. As a supplier of infrastructure and custom stands there are three distinct focus groups - the place where the activity is hosted, the entity responsible for organising the activity and lastly the person or company who will be using the activity as a marketing platform.

"As a supplier, we differentiate between all three as they each have distinct requirements, although they are all strategic partners in the value chain. If one is not there, or there is under-performance, then it becomes a non-event. As we have SLAs in place with certain organisers and end users, it is a logical development that we also partner with venues," explains Kennedy.
