R1m, luxury car for SA sport star of the year

Mbalula announced that the 2012 South African Sports Star of the Year will win 1 million rand and a luxury car.

Nominees in 19 categories will be announced on 7 October and each nominee will receive a prize of R10 000 during the glittering awards ceremony to be held in November in Johannesburg's Sandton Convention Centre, in collaboration between the Department of Sport and Recreation, South Africa's Olympic governing body (SASCOC), The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) and the Gauteng Department of Sport, Arts and Culture, the GCIS reports.
