Arden perfume launch coincides with Arbor Week

Elizabeth Arden would like to encourage everyone to 'make the world a prettier place' by supporting Arbor Week 1-7 September 2009. If you cannot physically plant a tree, then visit www.maketheworldaprettierplace.com and plant a 'virtual' tree in this online forest. For each 'virtual' tree planted, Elizabeth Arden will sponsor the planting of a tree, through the international NGO, Trees for the Future.

“Arbor Day is celebrated during the first week of September and is a time when everyone is encouraged to reflect on the important role trees play in our world and to plant a tree,” says Renay Lotz, marketing director of Elizabeth Arden South Africa.

The campaign coincides with the introduction of a new fragrance from Elizabeth Arden called ‘Pretty'. “It is all about capturing the essence of feeling pretty and what better way than the feeling you get when you do something positive for the environment,” continues Lotz.

The website is a platform for consumer comment, a portal on which to share ideas on how to make our world a prettier place, on a day-to-day basis. For each comment shared, Elizabeth Arden will sponsor a tree.

Since 1989, Trees for the Future has been helping communities around the world plant trees. Through seed distribution, agro-forestry training and other programs, it has empowered rural groups to restore tree cover to their lands. Planting trees protects the environment and helps to preserve traditional livelihoods and cultures for generations.
