Rocketing up the Gunn Report

JWT worldwide has made the biggest jump ever recorded in the top half of the table in the eight-year history of the international Gunn Report. "And now for one of the biggest stories of the year. JWT, having been in ninth place last year with 52 points, amass a whopping 106 points in 2006 to rocket up to fourth place in the Agency Network's Table," states the report.

The Gunn Report honours the world's best advertising, combining the winners' lists from all of the major local, regional and global advertising festivals, to create worldwide league tables for the advertising industry.

The global development takes place against a transformation for JWT on an international level, led by its chief creative officer Craig Davis, and a recent creative revitalisation in JWT South Africa.

JWT SA's creative transformation began seven months, with the appointment of Rob McLennan as group creative director, accompanied by the appointment of award-winning creative heavyweights Conn Bertish and James Daniels as creative directors in Cape Town and Johannesburg respectively.

They have subsequently been placed every month in the Creative Circle Ad of the Month, garnering a first for Kellogg. They also collected four Loeries at the recent awards, the first in many years for JWT.

McLennan says, "It's great to be acknowledged and to be back on the playing field. We still have a lot of work to do before we win the game, but our clients have been incredibly supportive. In fact, there has been a real thirst for better creative work and we're showing we can provide it. This is an exciting time for JWT both locally and internationally."
