The application is against a R1.5bn proposed development at Maiden's Cove.
City of Cape Town's Clifton Precinct Development Plan which has been met with outrage by affected parties.
Since then, the city has opposed the review application. On Friday, 12 October, however, the city announced that having considered the concerns raised by residents, non-profit organisations, and others, it has decided against opposing the review application.
The proposed development of the area includes plans for 52 residential homes, a boutique hotel, retail and restaurant spaces, and a parking garage for 700 vehicles.
