According to the station, Olsen's passion for and knowledge of music, her distinct understanding of the 5FM audience and very specific knowledge of the business- and publishing-side of the local and international music industry were key determining factors in her appointment.
“5FM is in a really exciting place right now – as is radio as a medium in general. There are a lot of challenges ahead to ensure we stay relevant and dynamic for our target audience. I'm really excited to have been given the opportunity to play more of a senior role in achieving this objective! Having been part of the 5FM team for many years now, I look forward to growing the station in audience as well as revenue. 5FM is more than just a brand to me – it's a passion and a way of life!” enthused Olsen.
5FM also recently launched its new brand campaign across TV, outdoor, cinema and print, “The Power of 5”, which is all about the effect 5FM has on the world around one.
